PSA Oxygen Molecular Sieve
Type: 13X-HP molecular sieve is the oxygen concentrate core (Pressure swing adsorption)
Oxygen Concentrators work by taking in the air (containing mostly nitrogen and oxygen plus the trace gases) and run it into a container of zeolite granules (this is a sieve material). The air is then pressurised by compression, the zeolite material properties means under pressure it holds onto the nitrogen molecules. This allows the oxygen to be separated and it is removed from the container and stored in an internal storage tank and later comes out of the outlet as the enriched concentration of oxygen. The container is then de-pressurised so the nitrogen is released from the zeolite, the nitrogen is then purged from the machine. The the cycle starts again.
