Product Description

Carbon molecular sieve is a material that contains tiny pores of precise and uniform size and is used as an adsorbent for gases. When the pressure is high enough, the oxygen molecules passing through the pores of the CMS are adsorbed much faster than the nitrogen molecules, and the nitrogen molecules coming out will be enriched in the gas phase. The oxygen-enriched air adsorbed by the CMS will be released by decompression. The CMS is then regenerated and ready for another cycle to produce nitrogen-enriched air.

Nitrogen Generation Principle

Carbon molecular sieves are adsorbents in pressure swing adsorption nitrogen generators. Nitrogen is produced from air by PSA. The separation of oxygen and nitrogen in the air is mainly based on the different diffusion rates of the two gases on the surface of the carbon molecular sieve. The gas molecules (O2) with smaller diameters diffuse faster and enter the pores of carbon molecular sieves more. Gas molecules (N2) with larger diameters diffuse slower and enter the carbon molecular sieve with fewer pores, so nitrogen enrichment in the gas phase can be obtained.
