Application of Pall Ring

In many industrial fields such as modern chemical industry, petroleum, and environmental protection, tower equipment is the key equipment for realizing various separation, absorption, reaction and other processes. Pall rings, as an excellent tower internal filler, play a pivotal role in improving tower performance.

Structure:

The basic shape of the Pall ring is a hollow cylinder with equal outer diameter and height. Unlike the traditional raschig ring, the ring wall is evenly distributed with two layers of staggered rectangular windows, each with 5-6 tongues bent into the center of the ring. This structure makes the flow path of gas and liquid in the tower more complex and reasonable, which not only increases the gas-liquid contact area, but also avoids the wall flow phenomenon of liquid on the ring wall, effectively improves the utilization rate of fillers, and provides a solid structural foundation for efficient mass transfer.

Features:

Pall rings have the characteristics of high mass transfer efficiency, low pressure drop, acid and alkali resistance, and large flux. This means that the gas and liquid are more evenly distributed, the mass transfer surface is fully utilized, and the energy consumption of the tower can be reduced, and the operating cost can be reduced.

Applications

Chemical distillation: In the separation and purification process of various organic compounds, such as separation of methanol and ethanol, distillation of benzene and toluene, etc., pall rings ensure product quality and production efficiency with their high mass transfer efficiency and low pressure drop characteristics, and are one of the first choices for distillation tower fillers.

Gas absorption: In environmental protection processes such as desulfurization and decarbonization, as well as gas purification in the acid-making industry, pall rings can efficiently achieve mass transfer between gas and absorbent, enhance absorption effect, and help industrial waste gas meet emission standards.

Wastewater treatment: In the aeration tank, pall rings act as biofilm carriers, providing a place for microorganisms to attach and grow, promoting material exchange between wastewater and microorganisms, effectively degrading pollutants in wastewater, and improving sewage treatment capacity.
