The tank plate gas-liquid distributor is usually composed of a shunt tank (also called a main tank or a primary tank) and a distribution tank (also called an auxiliary tank or a secondary tank). The first-level tank divides the liquid into several streams through the opening at the bottom of the tank, and adds them to the liquid distribution tank below them respectively. There are holes (or conduits) on the bottom (or wall) of the distribution tank to evenly distribute the liquid on the packing layer. The trough-type gas sparger has great operating flexibility and excellent anti-fouling and clogging properties, and is particularly suitable for separation of atmospheric liquid loads and liquids containing suspended solids and high viscosity. How to Choose the Appropriate Gas-Liquid and Flow Rate Distributions?

In order to improve the mass transfer effect of the tower, when the ratio of the height of the packing layer to the diameter of the tower exceeds a certain value, the packing layer needs to be segmented. In order to improve the uneven liquid distribution caused by wall flow, a liquid redistributor is installed between each packing layer to collect the liquid from the previous packing layer and provide uniform liquid distribution for the next packing layer. A liquid redistributor should be installed at certain heights in the packing layer.
